Sister Xaveria from Cameroon visits Inter Care
Sister Xaveria had a whirlwind tour of Inter Care contacts throughout October and early November. During her visit she gave 5 school talks to Countesthorpe Community College, Ratcliffe College, Bishop Ellis RC Primary and Rothley C of E in Leicestershire and St Bernards RC Primary School in Bolton. She also gave 2 talks to Rotary Clubs, one in Yarm near to Darlington and the other was to Birkenhead Rotary Club. She also visited Kia Motors in Bolton who support one of the clinics where Sister Xaveria originates from. A tour of Bolton FC was also on the agenda when she visited them as they have very kindly donated a past season strip to the children of Cameroon whom we understand are football mad! Finally and the reason for Sister Xaveria's visit was to be our guest speaker at Inter Care's AGM held on 31st October 2009 in Syston. Greeted by Sister Patricia Story CP, the charity’s Chairman, Sr. Xaveria spoke movingly of the challenges faced by her colleagues in dealing with the sick and the poor in a country. Referring to the medicines received from Inter Care, she said: “Inter Care is a small fruitful seed planted in 1983 in Cameroon. Today this good and lasting seed has grown into a big tree of life where many lives are saved. Whenever a child or an adult is sick and is taken to this tree of life, he/she drinks its water or eats the fruits and gets refreshed.”Thank you Sister Xaveria for taking time out to come to the UK and endorse the work of Inter Care.
