Takija Health Centre is in the Kumbo Diocese of North West Cameroon and is about 110km from Bamenda. The population of the catchment area is 7,835. The unit has 11 beds in 2 wards and 3 staff which include 2 nurses and 1 assistant.
The most common diseases treated are malaria, pneumonia, arthritis, hypertension, gastroenteritis and wound infections. In 2008, the health centre had 858 outpatients and 200 inpatients.
This unit has been adopted in Novemer 2009 by Inter Care for support with thanks to the Jephcott Charitable Trust.
