St Fidelis Hospital is in the Archdiocese of Kasama and is situated about 45 minutes drive from the town of Kasama over very rough roads. It is part of the small community of Chilubula which, in addition to the hospital includes a Church and Convent, and a school . The hospital serves approximately 17466 people, the furthest away of which have to travel around 25 k to see a nurse or doctor.

They have recently finished building a new operating theatre and are opening a dental clinic. The hospital is run in a very business like and competent way by Sister Elizabeth Mutals and her staff who of 5 nurses and 2 midwives and resident clinical officer They are visited twice a week by a doctor and due to the long distance to the nearest referral hospital and the state of the roads, between them deal with all but the most serious cases.
