St. Augustine's Seminary is two hour's drive from the capital Lusaka. It is a training college for Catholic priests with around 100 students at any one time, 90% of whom are resident. Students spend two years at the seminary which is located in beautiful grounds just outside the town of Kabwe.
Sr Francis Mary is a trained nurse and also the seminary's librarian. She sees any students who are ill in the morning and again in the evening, she also looks after the seven families who are resident on the estate.
During 2009, the Seminary saw 10,500 outpatients mainly suffering from malaria, chest infections and various skin conditions.
Inter Care supplies almost all of the medicines available at the seminary.
