The Dispensary is in the district of Shinyanga in the very centre of Tanzania and it is perhaps the most difficult to reach of the units that Inter Care supplies. Under the dedicated direction of a very determined Sister of the Immaculate Heart Sisters of Africa a remarkable programme of home-care for HIV/AIDS patients was organised well before such programmes were the norm. The dispensary serves some 8,000 people and it is 9km along bad roads to the nearest referral centre. It has a laboratory and offers basic services including maternity, ante-natal and vaccines.
