Mwazye Dispensary
Submitted by editor on 23. October 2008 - 12:16
This centre was started by the Catholic Diocese of Sumbawanga in 1908 and is now in the hands of Sisters of O/L Queen of Africa. It is situated fairly near the Zambian border and is very rural with poor roads. It serves 8 villages (catchment area of about 9,000) and is 60km from the nearest town.
An Inter Care volunteer visited in September 2010. At the Dispensary, they have solar power, but lighting is mostly Kerosene. There are 7 members of staff and 24 beds divided into 3 wards. They have their own laboratory.
