Biu Clinic is a typical rural clinic, serving a population of about 6,000. It was started by The Presentation Brothers in the 1970’s to meet an urgent need for pre-school children and their mothers but has since been taken under the general supervision of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese. Only out-patient services are available but as well as Primary Health Care, these include Community-Based Care in villages that are visited twice weekly.
