Together with Wvem and Kourem, this unit began as an out-reach clinic serving a population of 5,500 from Shisong Hospital but the people were anxious to make their own efforts and have created a small medical unit, still supervised from Shisong Hospital, but run and financed by themselves. There are 3 nurses and a midwife looking after 17 beds in 3 wards and a doctor visits monthly.
The roads are poor in the area and there is not sufficient availability of water to the general population.
