The Health Centre is situated between Nkambe and Kumbo towns and was started in 1992. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters and serves a population of 23,168. There is a resident doctor and some 30 beds in 4 wards. Maternal and child-health clinics are held as well as 2 monthly out-reach clinics. HIV/AIDS activities include prevention of mother-to-child transmission and education and community home-based care programmes. The training of student nurses is also an important part of their programme.
