Ashing-Kom Health Centre

This Health Centre treats the local population of 19,622 people and was started in 1970 for the purpose of serving as an infirmary for the students at the large boarding school nearby. It is 13 km from Njinikom, where there is a large hospital for serious cases, and 30 km from Bamenda. The unit has a small laboratory and is active in out-reach and health education.
The Health Centre has 22 beds in 3 wards and has a total of 4 staff. The most common diseases treated there are Malaria, HIV/AIDS, skin diseases, abdominal worms, respiratory diseases, hypertension and diabetes.
